Dear Friend for Life,
With confident joy, I am writing to announce that Lorin Roncancio is assuming the role of Living Alternatives’ Ministry Director. Lorin has faithfully served alongside me for 32 of my 40 years with Living Alternatives. She and I have walked together through the challenges and the joys of caring for women, unborn babies, children, and families. Loving Alternative’s Director, Carol Morgan, will assist Lorin in her new role. I will continue to serve alongside them as Founder and an advisor.
Lorin has been a missionary with Youth With A Mission for 32 years and married to Samuel for 25 years. Lorin and Samuel have three beautiful children, Andre (23), Gabriela (22), and Jonathan (17). She loves serving with Living Alternatives, building relationships with our clients—helping them encounter new possibilities for their futures. Her favorite part is “being involved in a life-changing ministry and seeing God bring beauty from ashes.”
The Heartbeat law in Texas and the overturning of Roe vs. Wade are creating life opportunities. When abortion rights return to the states, Texas has a “trigger law” that will go into effect 30 days after the Supreme Court’s decision, outlawing most abortions with some exceptions. Although this righteous law will provide a new foundation to protect life, it will also bring increased responsibility to followers of Jesus Christ. The scripture in Deuteronomy 30:19 comes to mind, “This day I have set before you life and death, blessings, and curses. Now choose life so that you and your children may live.” The reality of this law will sober many. Some Texas women may cross state lines to obtain abortions elsewhere. Either way, Living Alternatives is well equipped and ready to meet various needs as our parenting programs will help prepare those who choose motherhood. Our Loving Alternative adoption agency stands ready to assist birth mothers and fathers as they come to see adoption as a loving, sacrificial choice.
Thank you for your prayerful support for Lorin, the staff, the ministry, and me as we move into the next season that God has for us. Please celebrate with us as Lorin grasps the baton for life to continue running to see Christ exalted and life championed in our community and beyond through Living Alternatives. We have prayed, worked, and given our lives jointly to help those facing diverse challenges choose life. Our inheritance is beautiful (Psalm 16:6). Looking back, countless unborn babies now have families. Thank you for your part in our 40-year history. You have walked with us, worked, prayed, believed, and given towards advancing God’s purposes in the lives of thousands of young women and their unborn babies. We trust and pray that you will continue to do so as we go forward together.
