Launching Fatherhood 101

Building Stronger Families

One of the most exciting developments at the Axia Center this year has been the launch of our new program, Fatherhood 101. We recognized a growing need to support the fathers who walk through our doors, and in June, we took the first steps toward addressing that need. Fatherhood 101 is designed to offer connection, encouragement, and guidance to these men, helping them embrace their vital role within their families.

Growing Together

Our first meeting started small, but we have been thrilled to see the rapid growth in attendance. Volunteer dads play a crucial role as mentors in this program. They meet with men during pregnancy tests and ultrasounds to establish a connection, and then invite them to our monthly gatherings. These meetings have become a place where fathers can find support and learn about the immense impact they can have on their children’s lives.

The Importance of Fatherhood

The statistics are clear: when fathers are present and engaged, children are twice as likely to go to college, 80% less likely to spend time in jail, and 75% less likely to experience teen pregnancy. These numbers overwhelmingly demonstrate the importance of a father’s involvement, not just for the well-being of their children, but for the strength and stability of entire communities.

Upholding a Biblical View

In a culture that often sends mixed messages, we are committed to sharing a biblical view of fatherhood. We want these men to understand that their presence is crucial not only for their children but also for the mothers of their children. We encourage them to step into their roles as providers and, ultimately, as the spiritual leaders of their homes.

“As for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.” – Joshua 24:15
