A few weeks ago, I counseled a girl who was newly pregnant. Her situation was not good. She had had a one-night stand with someone she barely knew.

At that point, she had not shared with anyone the fact that she was pregnant.

While talking with the team at Axia, she seemed comfortable in carrying her baby and said she would text me as soon as she told her mother. She knew that once she told her mother, she would have to carry the baby, as her mom would never support taking the life of her grandbaby.

I fully expected her to text me within a couple of days, but received no text. I became especially concerned when she was a “no-show” for her ultrasound appointment.

I tried to reach out to her to reschedule her ultrasound, but I had no response! Then, about a week later, I received a text from her saying, “I told my mom, and yes, I do want to reschedule my ultrasound.”

What a relief and an answer to prayer! She showed up with her mom the next day for the ultrasound, and we saw an image of her tiny baby, very much alive. They shared that she had gone to have an abortion and “just couldn’t do it.

She had called her mom from the abortion clinic, crying, telling her that she was pregnant. Her mother responded by saying, “That’s okay, we will get through this, just come home.

So there we sat, after the ultrasound, thanking the Lord for this precious gift and the life they had ahead of them.
